Global analysis of endogenous peptides in heat-stabilized tissue samples using nano LC-MS

The Proteomics Core Facility at the University of Gothenburg, in collaboration with scientists from Denator AB, has established a protocol for large-scale analysis of endogenous peptides from heat-stabilized tissue samples. An advanced workflow aims to facilitate the global analysis of endogenous peptides and will be particularly useful when comparing control/diseased/treated or heat-stabilized/non-stabilized samples.
PCF accepts frozen samples for subsequent heat stabilization, peptide extraction and high resolution, nano LC-MS. Data are analyzed using computer software such as Mascot (Matrix Science) for peptide identification and Progenesis (Nonlinear Dynamics) for relative quantification of detected peptides between all samples. Results are delivered as raw data in an Excel file and as a pdf report.

About the Proteomics Core Facility - a top level performer

The Proteomics Core Facility offers services in most areas of proteomics to academics and companies. According to an article in Nature Methods, the Proteomics Core Facility was the only group out of 24 facilities around the world to succeed in identifying specific protein fragments from a complex HUPO test sample.
